Building a Skateboard Ledge
Took the chance to pursue a little hobby project – building my own skateboard ledge.
The inspiration to build my own ledge came from a colleague who refurbished an old mini ramp. So I thought I could actually do a similar thing in my neighborhood and see how it works out.
I followed the Red Bull guide to the dot. Only made the ledge a bit longer (250cm) because these are the standard wood ply lengths that you can buy around here.
The final result is quite ok👌🏼
Of course, if you look closely, you can see that I'm not the most skilled handyman :) Nevertheless, I'm pretty happy with the result.
I only have a few questions regarding the durability of the top sheet. Maybe a small 6mm weather resistant ply would be better, we will see..
The ledge is waxed and ready to be tested in my neighborhood.
I wonder how long it will take until someone protests or destroys/removes the ledge. Until then, it's basically my personal skatepark :) and open for all. Happy skateboarding folks!
I'll update the thread here on the Fediverse once I have some footage, it's still raining cats around here ⛈️🐱
